I have always wanted two children. I don?t know why, this just felt perfect for me. Rather soon after getting married, I and my husband started to plan having our first child.
Luckily, getting pregnant with our first child came easily. After a month of trying I found out that I was pregnant. We couldn?t believe that it was so easy. About nine months later our son was born. It was very exciting time for both of us.
We thought that three years would be an ideal age difference between our children. So, after two years we started to try again. This time we wanted to have a girl. Of course, a boy would have been wonderful also, but because we already had one, we wanted to have a daughter.
Nonetheless, a year had passed. Each month, each week, every other day, we were trying but with no success. Getting pregnant the second time was not turning out to be easy. When we hit the one year of trying mark, I started to worry.
At the same time, my friends were in the same situation, except that they had tried for over two years. What was in common between me and my friend was that we both were little over forty. As you know, age can have a significant impact for a woman?s fertility.
My friends decided to meet a fertility expert. He prescribed some kind of fertility medication for her. I and my husband, instead, wanted to take the route of relaxation. We tried not to take too much pressure about getting pregnant. Another year went by and either one of us were pregnant.
To our wonder and surprise I turned up pregnant. The funny thing is it was a month that I wasn?t even trying. We had stopped trying. I have always heard that when you don?t try this is when it happens. Well that must be true. We had given up and at that point we got a surprise. I was pregnant.
Shortly, after I announced this to friends and family, I found out my friend also conceived and was pregnant. Trying so long to get pregnant makes you appreciate the miracle of life even more. Since it came so natural the first time, when I conceived my son I thought it would happen that way again.
You never know what happens in your life. Again, nine months later we had our daughter. Yes, our other child is a girl. Now, I couldn?t be happier. I got the whole picture, wonderful husband and two beautiful children, a son and daughter.
To all those couples who are trying to get pregnant, my word of advice is to relax. Miracles happen every day. Yes, becoming pregnant, whether easy or not, is always a miracle.
