Friday the 13th or Just Bad Luck! | Figure Skating

This past week has been a very?. interesting? one to say the least. In my opinion, one of the greatest rewards of figure skating is meeting new people who share the same love for a sport as you. I have had the opportunity to meet sooo many amazing people throughout my skating career thus far including two of my best friends Katie and Jamie. I met Katie and Jamie in England this past September at the 2010 John Curray Memorial Competition,? (one? of the stops on the Junior Grand Prix Circuit).? The three of us immediately ?clicked? and have remained close, (Thank you Skype ! ), ever sense we first met. This post week Jamie and Katie traveled all the way from Europe to Colorado to come visit, and experience American training!? So far we have had such a blast, and they seem to be enjoying skating and their time here. It makes me SO sad to think they only have two more weeks here before they head back to the U.K, but I have been trying not to think about it, and just enjoy the time we have together. Naturally I have been spending most of my time with them sense they
are only here for a short month? Well that?s not really short? but too short for me haha!

As you guys may have known, this past week was the week of the dreaded FRIDAY THE THIRTEENTH. Now, I have never been one to take Friday the 13th seriously, but let me tell you, this week has been FULL of weird occurrences, and just one unfortunate and inconvenient thing after another! For example, in the last week, I have lost my wallet, broke my phone, put a gas station pump out of order, and last but not least,? my car has stopped working LOL. Doesn?t that seem like a lot of bad things to happen in one week? You may be
wondering how someone puts a gas station pump out of order? hmmm well?. I was pumping gas as anyone normally would. Now usually when filling my tank the gas will automatically stop flowing when my car gets nearly full. Well this was NOT the case! I knew something must be wrong when I looked at the gas pump in it said $62 dollars
(usually my car fills up around $50)!? Just as soon as I looked at the outrageous price, my car started overflowing with gas and gas was pouring everywhere! I was FERRRREAKKKING out! Can you imagine?!
Just one of the many crazy things that happened to me this week.? I decided to blame Friday the 13th, however, Jamie and Katie seem to think they just brought their bad luck oversea?s to America! haha. On a brighter note skating has been going really well! Last week we
finished our long program after a TIRING search for music! Kylie and I decided to skate to Dr. Zhivago for our long, and I am really excited about the way it came out! Also, Kylie landed her first throw triple loops this week which was also immensely exciting! The competition season is coming up so fasttt! We have our first competition in Philly in just about 6 weeks! Its called ?Liberty? which is one of the first big summer competitions of the season. Well that?s about it for now!
