Laughter still best medicine for famed funnyman-Rodeo-GoTeamsGo ...

Flint Rasmussen, the clown prince of rodeo, grinned and said that no, he never has had a bad day.

And he was serious as a heart attack.

"The tiring thing about my job is I'm not allowed to have bad days," he said with a smile.

The famous funnyman was in Great Falls Thursday to speak before a meeting of the local Pachyderm Club. The Choteau native, one of the most celebrated clowns in the history of rodeo, took the opportunity to crack wise and talk politics.

He also offered a little insight into what a life-threatening experience can do for one's attitude.

It was two years ago in March that he suffered a heart attack. Rasmussen, 43, underwent surgery and was hospitalized in Great Falls.

Talk about a bad day.

"My wife (Katie) used to get mad," said Rasmussen, who admits his cheerful attitude wasn't always readily apparent at home. "She said, 'We always get the grouchy Flint and everybody else gets the funny one.' But you know what? Then I had a heart attack. And now I realize that those bad days just aren't worth it.

"Things are way better now, and she'll vouch for that."
